Velcro Vert

Amazing structure
natures architecture at its best
unassuming
yet fringed with the tiniest hooks
that grab and hold
to the unwary passing through
sleeves and legs covered
or fur if of the furry persuasion.

All planned
and created
to spread the plants world
so young can grow
unencumbered by the parent.

No need to spread on the wind
or explode at the touch
or wait to be eaten
and passed out elsewhere.
The simplest of claw
to grasp
and hold on tight.

The Burdock
the stickybobs.

And of course
if someone
no naming names
is feeling mischievous
there’s also the challenge
of seeing how many you can place on the back of another
without them noticing.
Have fun!
